All white shirts/tops will look extra bright on camera, so using a coat or vest can help break it up!
Busy patterns will steal the attention from your face (not in a good way). Even though that bold print might look great in person, on camera it can get distracting — think clean, simple, and timeless over loud or busy.
Accessories
Accessories should complement you, not compete with you. If it’s bigger than your face, it’s probably stealing the spotlight.
Transition glasses can show a surprising tint on camera, so give them time to clear up indoors before your session.
Hair/Makeup
Make sure your hair is styled the way you’d like it best presented.
Try to avoid scheduling a haircut right before your headshot, just in case it turns out shorter or sharper than expected.
For makeup, avoid anything too glossy. Lighting can create extra shine, and we want the focus on you, not the reflection.
