Wheaton College Organ Unveiling
College built one of the largest pipe organs within the United States of 2021. They wanted to highlight this great feat for the college, for music, and For Christ & His Kingdom.
Goal
Wheaton College built one of the largest pipe organs within the United States of 2021. They wanted to highlight this great feat for the college, for music, and For Christ & His Kingdom. The story was on display for the College and the surrounding community, from the two donors that made it possible, to assembly, and of course the end result on display.
Process
We wanted to feel movement and progression in this piece – a lot like reading music. So, we shot handheld for most of the talking head segments to give a natural camera shake. We stationed Dr. Wilder across historic musical sites of Wheaton College to speak on the college’s rich history of organ performance, and how this new organ fits into modernity and the future context of Wheaton. We utilized graphic design work in motion to add another level of visuals to fully engage the viewers while sharing Wheaton’s organ history.
Solution
The video played live and at the organ’s unveiling for an in-person audience.
